The Tourmaline Crystal:
One of Tourmaline’s most distinguishing properties is its ability to become electrically charged simply by heating or rubbing it. When charged, one end becomes positive and the other negative, allowing it to attract particles of dust or bits of paper. This property of pyroelectricity (from heat) or piezoelectricity (from pressure or rubbing) was well-known to the Dutch traders of the 1700s who used Tourmaline to pull ash from their Meerschaum pipes, calling the stone Aschentrekker, or “ash puller.
Green Tourmaline’s invigorating qualities make it an excellent stone to use or wear to relieve chronic fatigue and exhaustion.
It can help stimulate proper cellular function and regeneration, and is excellent to aid in etherically treating cancers or other cell-growth imbalances. It is one of the strongest stones for vibrational healing of the heart.
Green Tourmaline fortifies the nervous system and is beneficial to the eyes, thymus, ductless glands and the immune system. It is a useful detoxifier and for treating the intestines and chronic bowel diseases, and may be useful in weight loss.
Green Tourmaline is soothing for sleep and quiets the mind. It may be used to reduce claustrophobia and panic attacks, and is beneficial for hyperactive children.
